You can output your video production as a standard 2D video file, which you can watch on a computer, burn to disc, or output to a portable device. You can also output just the audio into a audio file format for playback, or export the frames in a video file as JPEG or PNG image sequence files.

You can output your project to one of the following formats:

•H.264 AVC*

•H.265 HEVC*

•Windows Media

•XAVC S™*

•AVI

•MPEG-2*

•Image Sequence

•Audio file

To output your video production in standard 2D, do this:

1.Click on the Produce button, and then the Standard 2D tab.

2.Select a video file format by clicking it.

3.Select the Profile name/Quality you want to use to create the file. This selection determines the video resolution, file size, audio format, and overall quality of the outputted file. See Video Profiles for more information.

4.Configure the production options as required. See Configuring Production Options for more information.

5.Check the production options and that the file will be exported to the folder on your computer where you want it. Click if you want to select another export folder or change the name of the produced file.

6.Click the Start button to begin producing your file.

Video Profiles

Video profiles determine the quality of video you produce in CyberLink PowerDirector. To select the video profile you want to use, select it from the Profile name/Quality drop-down. Once selected, you can click the button to view its full details, including the video and audio codecs that will be used, and the outputted video's bitrate.

Customizing Profiles

Some video formats allow you to customize your own video profile. To customize a video profile, do this:

1.After selecting a file format, click the button.

2.Enter a custom Profile name and Description.

3.Click on the Video tab and set the Resolution, Frame rate, etc. as required. The options that are available depend on the file format you selected.

4.Click on the Audio tab and set the Audio compression type, Audio channel, and Audio compression rate. The options that are available depend on the file format you selected.

5.Click OK to save the new profile. This new profile will be available in the Profile name/Quality drop-down.

You can modify the custom profile at any time by selecting it in the Profile name/Quality drop-down and then clicking the button.

Configuring Production Options

Before you begin producing your file, you can select from the following production options:

•Fast video rendering technology: SVRT and hardware acceleration are options that can reduce production time. SVRT speeds up production by only rendering the clips (or portions of clips) that were edited. This option is only available when outputting to the MPEG-2, H.264, and H.265 formats and if the conditions for using SVRT are met. The hardware acceleration option is only enabled if your computer supports hardware video encoding, and you are outputting in a file format that supports it (H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC, and XAVC S).

•Surround Sound: select this preference if you want your produced video file to have surround sound. Once selected, you have a choice of AAC 5.1, DTS 5.1, and TrueTheater Surround audio processing technologies.

•x.v.Color: x.v.Color is a color system that can display a wider color range than usual. CyberLink PowerDirector can generate an x.v.Color-compliant stream, which is backward compatible with RGB displays, while offering the opportunity to achieve better visual quality if your playback environment is x.v.Color ready.

•Upload a copy to CyberLink Cloud*: if you have a CyberLink Cloud subscription, select this option if you also want the program to upload the produced file to your CyberLink Cloud storage space after production.

•Enable preview during production: select this option to preview your video during production. Selecting this option will increase the time required to produce your file.
