CyberLink PowerDirector Help

You can capture screen snapshots while playing a video clip in the media library, or when previewing your video project on the timeline. The screen snapshots are added to the media library, and can be used in your video projects.

Screen Snapshot Formats

You can set the screen snapshot image file format in the Snapshot filename section of File Preferences. The following file formats are available:

2D screen snapshots: BMP, JPG, GIF, or PNG

3D* screen snapshots: MPO or JPS

Screen Snapshot Resolution

The resolution of a captured project timeline screen snapshot is dependent on the project aspect ratio and the selected preview quality. See Preview Screen Snapshots for more information. If you want a screen snapshot to be the same resolution as the original video clip, you can capture it while the clip is in the media library.

Capturing Screen Snapshots

To capture a screen snapshot, do this:

1.While previewing your video project in the timeline, or a video clip in media library, click the button on the preview controls to pause playback. You can also drag the timeline slider, or use the other preview controls, to find the exact moment in the video where you want to capture the snapshot.

2.Click to take the screen snapshot.

Note: if you want a 3D* screen snapshot, click to enable 3D mode first.

3.If required, browse to and then select the location where you want to save the new image file.

4.If required, enter a filename for the snapshot file.

5.Click Save to add it to your media library.
