CyberLink PowerDirector Help

The library preview window* lets you preview media files and effects in the media library in a separate window from your current project preview. You can also use it to add clip markers and perform single trims on media clips before adding them to the timeline.

Note: * optional feature in CyberLink PowerDirector. Check the version table on our web site for detailed versioning information.

To enable the library preview window, do either of the following:

from the View menu, select the Show Library Preview Window option.

right-click on a media file in the media library, and then select Show in Library Preview Window.

To close the library preview window, just click on the X in the top right corner of the window.

Performing a Single Trim in the Library Preview Window

In the library preview window you can perform a single trim on video and audio files in the media library.

To trim a video or audio clip in the library preview window, do this.

1.In the media library, select the video/audio clip that you want to trim.

2.Use the player controls in the library preview window to find where you want the trimmed clip to begin, and then click to set the mark in position. You can also drag the mark in position slider to this position.

3.Use the player controls in the library preview window to find where you want the trimmed clip to end, and then click to set the mark out position. You can also drag the mark out position slider to this position.

4.Click the button to add the trimmed clip to the selected track on the timeline at the current timeline slider position. You can also click the button to add the clip to the selected track on the timeline, overwriting any clips at the current timeline slider position.

Note: if you drag the clip to the timeline, CyberLink PowerDirector will input the original video/audio clip to the timeline, not the trimmed clip. You must use the buttons in the library preview window to insert the clip into the timeline.
