CyberLink Releases FaceMe® SDK Version 7.2, with 3x Faster Anti-Spoofing, Improved Deepfake Detection Accuracy, and added Person Attributes Recognition Features

Taipei, TAIWAN – April 17, 2025 CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a pioneer in AI and facial recognition technologies, today announced the latest release of their AI facial recognition engine, FaceMe® SDK. Version 7.2 enhances the industry’s most advanced technology with improved accuracy and processing speed of the anti-spoofing function while significantly enhancing deepfake detection.

CyberLink Releases FaceMe® SDK Version 7.2

With the utilization of photos and videos for impersonation attacks increasing in recent years, and the evolution of generative AI resulting in the prevalence of deepfakes, stronger security measures are required. Introduced in various industries and applications, facial recognition can successfully prevent crime by authenticating individuals while improving convenience, but only if critical system measures are in place.

FaceMe® SDK version 7.2 protects against sophisticated impersonation attempts by improving authentication accuracy and processing speeds, increasing the safety and reliability of facial recognition.

Anti-spoofing Performance Improvements

  • Up to 3x faster 2D processing speeds

FaceMe® SDK’s 2D anti-spoofing function uses AI to determine human likeness from RGB camera images on PC’s, smartphones, tablets, etc., to detect impersonation attempts. Version 7.2 maintains the same advanced detection accuracy as before, but with processing speeds now up to three times faster. With smoother execution of the identity verification process, the overall user experience is greatly improved.

  • 67% IR+RGB anti-spoofing detection accuracy improvement, with 2.3x faster processing speeds

FaceMe® SDK’s  IR+RGB anti-spoofing function detects impersonation attempts by simultaneously capturing infrared and RGB images and analyzing both images with AI. Version 7.2 resolves processing speed and lighting issues on the MSK Knoctoi Lite and Union UBio-X Pro facial recognition terminals with an optimized AI algorithm. For a more secure, faster, and convenient authentication experience, anti-spoofing detection is now up to 67% more accurate, with 2.3 times faster processing speed. Additionally, high accuracy anti-spoofing detection is ensured even in environments with strong lighting contrasts (e.g. semi-outdoors).

  • About FaceMe®’s anti-spoofing function

Compliant with iBeta Level 2 and ISO standards, FaceMe®’s anti-spoofing detection has achieved a 100% true rejection rate (TRR) and is top ranked in NIST’s Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) tests. In addition to 2D and IR+RGB camera anti-spoofing functions, FaceMe® also provides 3D anti-spoofing when depth cameras are utilized.

Anti-spoofing Performance Improvements

Deepfake Detection up to 95.5% Accurate

Deepfake images and videos are now indistinguishable to the naked eye, using AI to detect and prevent them is expected to become an important technology for the future of reliable identity verification. FaceMe® SDK 7.2 uses a newly trained DNN AI model for deepfake detection with a true acceptance rate (TAR) of correctly recognizing real videos up to 99%, and a true rejection rate (TRR) of correctly detecting deepfakes up to 95.5?

Person Attribute Recognition

Already capable of detecting gender, age (adult or child), and emotions during facial recognition, FaceMe® SDK 7.2 can now provide clothing information (long or short sleeves, color, and accessories such as hats or bags). By applying this function, it is possible to capture appearance information from IP camera images to search for and track specific individuals. This is particularly beneficial for locating lost children or persons of interest, such as suspicious people.

Person Attribute Recognition

Additional 7.2 Updates

Version 7.2 provides these additional updates to improve the experience for customers and users alike.

  • Face detection accuracy enhanced [Android]
  • Faster camera initialization [Windows]
