CyberLink FaceMe® Enhances Facial Recognition Technology with Thermal Camera Imaging

New body temperature measurement features for FaceMe® engine helps businesses keep individuals safe

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – July 30, 2020 – CyberLink Corp. (5203.TW), a pioneer in AI and facial recognition technologies, today announced new features for temperature scans to its innovative facial recognition software development kit (SDK), FaceMe®, which will further aid businesses as they reopen to ensure the health and safety of individuals.

CyberLink FaceMe® Enhances Facial Recognition Technology with Thermal Camera Imaging

FaceMe®, which has been ranked among the most superior by the NIST Facial Recognition Vendor Test, now offers comprehensive pandemic control capabilities for temperature scans, mask detection, contactless payments, access, login and more, while also being able to perform facial recognition on individuals even if they wear a mask. FaceMe® is the only solution that not only is able to detect if individuals are wearing a mask, but also if they are wearing masks properly. The platform is designed to help businesses reduce the risk of virus transmission and for security and access control.

FaceMe® can identify multiple individuals together as they enter public and private spaces, detect if they are wearing a mask and check temperatures instantly. Through infrared thermal imaging technology, FaceMe® can immediately identify individuals with high temperatures and can notify a designated contact to take appropriate action.

The FaceMe® platform can be integrated and configured into a wide range of cameras and devices, including kiosks, retail point-of-sales systems, security cameras, digital signage and other Internet-connected and IoT devices.

“Brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen a surge in demand for technology that enables a nearly entirely touchless day-to-day life and temperature checks have become a vital tool to protect the health and safety of individuals,” said Dr. Jau Huang CEO, CyberLink. “These new FaceMe® features are designed to accommodate this new world and facilitate a smooth transition for businesses and workplaces to not only reopen, but also remain open, with complete confidence.”

FaceMe® provides an edge-based, cross platform SDK, including Windows, Linux, Android and iOS, which is suitable for IoT & AIoT hardware to deploy facial recognition, as well as software applications requiring facial recognition. Its engine is one of the most accurate in the world according to the authoritative NIST’s Facial Recognition Vendor Test. FaceMe’s® high accuracy, flexibility and security makes it the leading facial recognition engine available on the market today.

CyberLink, Municipal Parking Services (MPS) and BlueStar will host a webinar titled “AI-based Solutions to Create Safe and Enjoyable Environments During COVID-19” on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM-12:00 PM PDT (2:00-3:00 PM EDT), discussing how facial recognition technology can be quickly integrated into IoT solutions and distributed to businesses across America, enabling them to meet health and safety guidelines and protect individuals as they reopen.
